Portraits

I stepped outside my comfort zone many years ago and did a portrait course at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst... and discovered a new passion.

It is so intense getting the proportions correct, but when you start to bring that person's character to life through an image it is very empowering.

You will probably recognise some of these well-known subjects!

I painted the portrait of Molly Meldrum while Molly was gravely ill, following an accident putting up Christmas Lights.

I prefer to paint portraits from photos and like to have a few to choose from, in order to capture the person's features.
