About Zoe

I'm a country girl at heart, growing up in Bathurst NSW and my love of the bush is evident in my works.

I love colour and texture and I'm always experimenting with new techniques to keep fresh.

One of my early private art tutors taught me to not be confined to one genre.

I've achieved this with being able to jump from portraits to landscapes modern and traditional to totally abstract works.

Finding the time to paint is always difficult, with my busy schedule of being a wife of 45 years to Peter, a loving and very involved mother to Daniel (40), Michael (36), Andrew (30), Cassie (26), Jackson (deceased) and their partners and friends.

I also run the family entertainment business and work part-time.

I have a humanitarian nature and have been involved with many committees and fundraising for a number of community groups and charities.

I was recognised for my ongoing community and charity work this year by being named The Hills Shire Citizen of the Year.

All very time consuming, but when you have such a passion for Art... you will always find the time.

I've had many exhibitions, and over the past years have exhibited and sold works at The Sydney Royal Easter Show.

I do a lot of commission work and my Australiana series has been very popular with overseas travellers.

I love people and love to travel, drawing on all these experiences for inspiration.

Music has also had a huge focus in my life, having owned and operated two music stores and marrying Peter, who has worked in Radio and the entertainment business for over 46 years. That is probably why I name a lot of my paintings after songs.

There is always music playing as I paint.

I have actively supported many charities over the years. The two main ones are:

The Cancer Council - I've staged many events to raise much needed funds for research and support infrastructure. I head up a group who run The Hills Relay for Life Ball each year raising in excess of $150,000.

The Parramatta Mission - My family and I put on a magnificent Christmas display each year with thousands of lights and Santas from around the world. The rest of our street gets involved and collect cash, food and toys for Parramatta Mission, as I believe every child should have Christmas!

ZAM

ZAM is the group which I love to paint with. I joined with Anita, my eldest son's partner and Michael, my second-eldest son, to inspire and encourage each other in our different styles. We have held many successful exhibits.
